Polyether ether ketone (PEEK)is a organic thermoplastic polymer in thepolyaryletherketone(PAEK) family.
PEEK is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained at high temperatures. It has a glass transition temperature of around 143 °C (289 °F)and melts around 343 °C (649 °F). Some grades have a useful operating temperature of up to 250(482°F). The added value that PEEK brings to manufactured parts includes lightweighting, strength or toughness, and the ability to survive longer in harsh environments.
PEEK can be processed into durable industrial components requiring heat resistance, chemical resistance, mechanical strength and dimensional stability.
It can be used to make battery diaphragms, battery insulation, circuitbreaker polymer components, and cable coil backbone coatings.
